Decarbonised mobility ecosystem

Project objective

The aim is to implement a hydrogen-based mobility ecosystem that includes the entire value chain, from hydrogen production and transport, to delivery and use. This gives us headway as well as the opportunity to develop the various elements locally (hydrogenerators, hydrogen buses and logistics systems for transporting hydrogen).

It is also to enhance the Abanto Parke as a scaled showcase project that is going to attract the attention and interest of different companies.

Main elements of the ecosystem

The 2.5 MW electrolyser from Petronor, the pipe that transports hydrogen to the EIC, the mobility plot of the EIC (with a hydrogenerator and a hydrogen loading station for MEGCs for transport), a remote hydrogenerator (at the airport), DFB buses as first users, a hydrogen car or van.

Role of the EIC Foundation

The main objective of the EIC Foundation is to try and boost this initiative and make it more visible, and for all participants (IBIL – Repsol + EVE, DFB, Petronor, Nortegas) to fast-track their construction and the implementation of this new infrastructure.

Project plan

The project is going to be developed in three stages:

  • Stage I: Installation of a portable hydrogenerator.
  • Stage II: Installation of a definitive logistical platform, which could be available for the first half of 2026.
  • Stage III: Installation of the airport hydrogenerator.
